Josephine (Jo) Langford
passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at age 93. Though small in stature, she had an enormous spirit and will to live. She loved life.
Born to Karl and Pauline Neumeier in Stillwater, Minnesota, graduated from Carleton College, she married Ted Langford in 1938. They enjoyed 65 happy years together until his death in 2003.
She spent much of her life at the “Piers” on the St. Croix River. Her love of the river and her gardens was equaled only by her love of family.
She is survived by her sister, Catharine Bell, her brother, Karl (Lora) Neumeier, her three children, Kitty (Robin) Carey, JoAnn (Jim) O’Connor, Tan (Judy) Langford; seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
A memorial service commemorating her life will be held at Ascension Episcopal Church, 214 N. 3rd Street, Stillwater at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 17th. Visitation at 10 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service. Both will be held at the church.
It was important to her that her world be beautiful. Any memorial donations may be directed toward that end.
