Sylvia passed away at home on October 6, 2009 surrounded by her family. Preceded in death by husband Warren Kromroy, daughter Jean Marie, and husband Richard Goll. Survived by son Thomas Kromroy (Kathryn) of St. Paul, MN, step-sons Bruce Goll (Barbara) of Stroudsburg, PA and Steven Goll (Diane) of Winter Park, FL. and grandchildren Andrew, Sarah and Anna Kromroy of St. Paul, MN. Sylvia was born in Hastings, North Dakota to Tonetta and Reverend Frederick Dahl on February 25, 1926. She grew up with four brothers in Baldwin, Wisconsin, graduated from St. Olaf College in 1948, and went to work for the Minneapolis Star and Tribune. Sylvia married Warren Kromroy in 1950. They lived in Minneapolis and Chicago before settling in Huntingdon Valley, PA where they raised Tom and lived for 44 years. Sylvia worked at Lower Moreland High School from 1972 to 1991. After the death of her first husband in 1980, Sylvia continued in her independence, making annual drives to Minnesota to visit her grandchildren. In 1991, she married Richard Goll and enjoyed 14 years of companionship and world traveling. Following his death in 2005, she returned to the Midwest, residing at Boutwells’ Landing in Oak Park Heights, MN. She enjoyed participating in community outings and neighborhood gatherings. Sylvia was an avid reader, expert knitter, and faithful hospital and library volunteer. We will miss her warm smile, beyond-positive attitude, natural beauty, and unending graciousness. Rest in peace, Sylvia, Mother, Grandma. Service 11:30 AM Monday, October 12, 2009 at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church (The Sanctuary), 900 Stillwater Road, Stillwater, MN 55115. Visitation one hour prior to service at the CHURCH. Luncheon following the service with internment at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Minneapolis.
