Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family February 26, 2010 in Stillwater, MN. Survived by loving wife of 61 years Elizabeth A. (nee Schoenecker); children Patrick (Diana Walter) Conners; Mike (Sue) Conners; Shannon (Dave) Shaleen; Maureen (Kraig) Blodgett; Timothy (Lisa) Conners; Megan (Andy) Sundgaard; Daniel (Martha) Conners; Kevin (Terri) Conners; Erin (Laurence) Walsh. Dick was a loving supporter and advocate for his 33 grandchildren; Brian (Chris) Conners, Jennifer Conners, Sarah (Ray) Noble, Annmarie (Brian) Kindler; Hannah and Richard Shaleen; Megan Moelter, Aaron Blodgett; Ryan, Patrick, Logan, Molly and Abby Conners; Brianna, Bridget, Aaron and Samuel Sundgaard; Nathan, Katie, Jeremy, Michael, Emily and Maggie Conners; Jessie (Xander) Hector, Mallory (Dustin) Ranem, Sean (Natalie) Conners, Tori and Grace Conners; Elizabeth, Kieran, Quinn, Maura and Aidan Walsh; 16 great-grandchildren Caitlyn, Madelyn, Collin, Caralyn, Nolan and Evalyn Conners; Alec Conners; Isaiah, Maria and Olivia Noble; Emma, Lucy, Gretta and baby boy Kindler; Emery Ranem, and Brett Conners; brother Paul Conners of St. Paul, MN and Meza, AZ. Dick was a proud graduate and Cadet Colonel of Cretin High School, class of 1944. He was a US Navy WWII Veteran; member of the Knights of Columbus, the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Dick was a connoisseur of many of the finer things in life. He never forgot a name, a place, or a good meal. Dick’s greatest joy was his family. His generosity of spirit and his love and kindness to all people will be remembered by those who were blessed to know him. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Tuesday March 2, 2010 at ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 423 S. 5TH St., Stillwater. Visitation 4 -7 PM Monday March 1, 2010 at SIMONET FUNERAL HOME, 6429 Osgood Ave. N., Stillwater and also 1 hour prior to Mass at the CHURCH. Private family interment at Calvary Cemetery, Red Wing, MN. Memorials preferred to St. Croix Catholic School Endowment Fund.
