James Buege Obituary

Jim, age 66, passed away from natural causes on July 4, 2015, leaving behind a devoted and loving partner, Martha. Jim is also survived by his daughters, Jessica and Erica; Martha’s daughter Amallia; brothers, Scott and Tom; sisters-in-law, Roxi and Joni; grandchildren, Mary, Tim and Madeline; nieces and nephews, Hannah, Danny, Chad, Mark, and Lindsey. Preceded in death by his mother, Betty Lou, father, James Sr., step mother, Anita Brookman and brother Mark. Jim grew up in Stillwater and loved the St. Croix River Valley. He enjoyed being a local athlete and later in life took up handball with a passion, playing in state tournaments. He loved sports, boating on the river, all people, and all music. His infectious smile, positive energy and generous spirit will be missed. He was especially proud of his service to his AA family, serving numerous times on the board of the St. Croix Alano Society as President. He was a tireless fundraiser for the board and for Joseph H. Roach Hall and will be remembered by many for his many sponsorships, weekly meetings at Stillwater Prison, and Thursday night meetings – through thick and thin – at the Ascension Episcopal Church. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Ascension Episcopal Church, 215 N. 4th Street, Stillwater, MN 55082. Visitation from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Ave. N., Stillwater, MN 55082, and also one hour prior to the service at Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
