David Seggelke Obituary

David K. (Huggis) Seggelke died peacefully in his sleep on April 19, 2014. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathleen (Kaye) and his parents, Kenneth A. and Lenore G. Seggelke. He is survived by his children Kevin (Shannon) (Broomfield, CO), Michael (Susie) (Stillwater), Lori (Tom) Kasel (Cologne) and Karin (Terry) Murphy (Stillwater); 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; his brother Richard (Phyllis) and many nieces and nephews. Dave was born in Stillwater on October 31, 1934 and lived his entire life there. Upon graduation from Stillwater High School in 1952, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served his country until 1955. He married Kathleen A. Callahan on September 24, 1955. He retired from Brown’s Ice Cream in 1994 and then worked for nearly 10 years with Cub Foods. He was a lifelong and active member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and The American Legion Post 48. Dave was very proud of his service in the Marine Corps, enjoyed an occasional cribbage game, was fond of SAHS athletics and loved the Minnesota Twins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 11 AM at the Church of St. Michael, 611 South Third Street, Stillwater, MN. Visitation will be Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 4-7 PM with a 40/8 Farewell at 7 PM at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Avenue North, Stillwater, MN and also one hour prior to the Mass in the church atrium on Friday. Memorials are preferred to the St. Croix Catholic School Endowment Fund.
