Jeffrey Thomas Ritzer Age 66 of Stillwater Jan. 13, 1952 – Feb. 24, 2018 Jeff died peacefully surrounded by family on February 24, 2018. Jeff was born January 13, 1952, and was raised in Stillwater, Mn, along with his nine siblings. Jeff will be deeply missed by his brothers; James (Margaret), Jerry (Julie), Joel “Tim” (Roz); and sisters, Joyce Mehsikomer, Josephine “Jo” (Allan) Studtmann, Jane (Conrad) Workman, Jeff’s twin, Jennifer (Charles) Harmon; and brother-in-law, Don Schmitt. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Helen (Runk) Ritzer; brother, John “Jake”; sister, Judith “Judy” Schmitt; brother-in-law, Donald Mehsikomer; and two nephews, Joshua and Jacob Harmon. Jeff was born with a diagnosis of Down syndrome. He lived to a unique age of 66 years for someone with his diagnosis. He was a special gift and a blessing to everyone who was near him. Even though he was non-verbal, Jeff touched more lives than anyone will ever know, and he will be missed by numerous caregivers, friends, and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life – Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 423 S. 5th St., Stillwater, MN 55082. Visitation will be from 2 - 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Ave. N., Stillwater, MN as well as one hour prior to the Mass at church. Interment at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Bayport. Memorials are preferred to pro-life organizations of your choice.
