Joshua Anthony Prokop

Joshua Anthony Prokop, age 28 of Stillwater, Minnesota died suddenly due to heart complications in Waterloo, Iowa. Josh was born on July 18, 1985 in Nuremburg, Germany, the son of Lorena and Troy Greenwold. He attended school in Stillwater and graduated from Stillwater High School. Josh enjoyed snowmobiling and ice fishing when he wasn’t working as a supervisor burying fiber optic cable throughout the Midwest region. Josh was a very caring and giving young man who always thought of others before himself. Most of all, Josh enjoyed being a Dad to his 11 month old son, Callen. Josh is survived by his son, Callen; parents Lorena Crisler and Mick Benik, adopted father Bill Prokop; sister Alexis Prokop; grandparents Dale and Carole Crisler, Dutch and Janis Benik, and Bob and Barb Prokop; girlfriend Megan Lick; he is also survived by many other family members and friends. Funeral Services for Josh will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Avenue North, Stillwater, MN 55082. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A gathering will be held immediately following the service at the Stillwater VFW, 5880 Omaha Avenue North, Oak Park Heights, MN 55082 In lieu of flowers, Memorials are preferred to the Josh and Callen Prokop Fund that is setup at the Lake Elmo Bank, 11465 39th St. N., Lake Elmo, MN 55042, or by phone at 651-777-8365.
