Karen J Garvey

GARVEY (Aspenson) Karen J. Age 59 of Stillwater Passed away on Aug. 17, 2013 Born on August 22, 1953 in Albert Lea, MN to Richard and Lillian Aspenson. Preceded in death by her father, Richard. Survived by her 3 loving sons, Zach (Kaylee Nelson), Luke (Noelle), and Ben; her darling granddaughter, Lily; her precious mother, Lillian; her 3 dear sisters, Kathryn Arkell (Jim), Paula Geiger (Vince), and Marcia DeWolf (Craig); 9 nieces and nephews; and many, many more beloved family and friends. Karen epitomized what it means to be selfless. She dedicated her life to serving her boys and providing a good life for them. Despite her enormous health battles, Karen had great joy in her heart that came from her relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ. She had a faith that could move mountains. Even in her last words she proclaimed, “By His stripes, I am healed!” (Is. 53:5) She never conceded death. Never opened the door to let it in. She closed her eyes in this world, and opened them in heaven. She truly won the battle. A celebration service of Karen’s life will be held at Bethany Evangelical Covenant Church, 6490 Stillwater Blvd. N., Stillwater, Saturday, August 24 at 1:00PM. Gathering time is two hours prior to service. Private burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery Bayport. Memorials preferred to The Karen Garvey Family Memorial.
