Mary McCabe Obituary

Mary C. “Geega” McCabe Beloved wife, mother, grandmother Age 94 died August 11, 2014 in Stillwater Mary was born on June 30, 1920 in Hibbing, MN to Domenic and Annunziatta (Tanturri) Albani. She attended junior college in Hibbing for two years before graduating from St. Catherine University, St. Paul in Library Science. After working in Kansas City, she returned to Hibbing to work at Hibbing Public Library. Mary met Lawrence McCabe and the two married on September 25, 1948 at Immaculate Conception Church, Hibbing. Mary spoke fluent French and Italian and was an avid bridge player. Mary and Larry resided in West St. Paul for over 40 years before moving to Stillwater. Mary is survived by husband of 65 years, Lawrence E. McCabe; brother Dr. James (Kay) Albani; sons Lawrence J. (Kathleen) McCabe of St. Petersburg, FL, and Thomas E. (Julie) McCabe of Bayport; and grandchildren Kelly, Shelby, and Sara. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at St. Charles Catholic Church, 409 3rd St N, Bayport. Visitation will be for one hour prior to Mass with a 9:30 a.m. Rosary service. Interment will be at St. Michael Cemetery, Bayport. Arrangements by Simonet Funeral Home, Stillwater.
