Walter Carlberg, age 89, of Stillwater, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society in Stillwater surrounded by his family. He is survived by his daughters Sue (Jody) Smith, Shannon (Phillip) Nurmi, and Michelle (Dan) Meier; grandchildren Jessica, Jake, Brooke, and Taylar. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary; parents, Axel and Lucille (Longmore) Carlberg and son Michael. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses and the nursing assistants at the Good Samaritan Society and St. Croix Hospice, especially Missy and Katie. Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2016 with visitation one hour prior to the service at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Ave N., Stillwater, MN 55082. Burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery in Bayport.
