Janet "Jan" Doe

Janet "Jan" Suzanne Doe, age 84, of Woodbury, MN, formerly of Stillwater, passed away peacefully at home on September 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 21, 1942, in Maplewood, MO, Jan was the daughter of Frederick and Elsa (Temme) Michel. The family moved to Minnesota just in time for her Senior year, where she graduated from Edina High School in 1960. It was in Stillwater that she crossed paths with Thomas Doe, and they tied the knot on February 3, 1977. Together, they raised two wonderful sons, Ricky and Stephen.

Jan built a meaningful career as a Senior Systems Analyst at 3M, where she dedicated 37 years of her life, retiring in 2002. She took great pride in her work and was known for being someone you could always count on. She rarely missed a day and was respected by her coworkers for her incredible dependability and punctuality.

But more than anything, Jan loved her family. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma who treasured time with the people she loved. Family was always at the center of her world. Jan had a passion for travel, sharing incredible memories with Tom on trips to Europe, cruises with lots of friends and Sis and Ron, and weekend getaways to Las Vegas and Laughlin. Jan especially treasured the week-long trips to Missouri with her granddaughters, Hailey and Kaitlyn, where they visited close friends in Sheldon and Nevada. Among all the seasons of the year, Christmas was Jan's absolute favorite-a time when she delightfully over-the-top celebrated with family and friends, filling her home with warmth and endless joy.

Jan will remain in the hearts of her husband of 49 years, Tom; sons Ricky (Denise) Michel and Stephen (Christie); grandchildren Brett (Anne) Michel, Drew Michel, Afton Michel, Riley (Alejandra), Hailey, Julia, and Kaitlyn; great-grandchildren Cameron, Calloway, Marquise, Emersyn, and Dakota; siblings Adrienne (Ron) Doerr, and Dale Michel. She is preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation will take place on Monday, September 21, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Ave N, Stillwater, MN. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate Jan's life and share memories.
