Leland Duane Schultz, Sr., age 92 of Oak Park Heights, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at his residence.  Leland was born May 12, 1923, in Plum City, Wisconsin, the son of Frederick and Marie (Cowley) Schultz.  Leland served as a Merchant Marine Radio Officer for 7 voyages during World War II.  He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Maxine (Mittlestadt); sons, Leland, Jr. (Maria), Keith (Linda), Ryan (Lois), and Royce (Terri); grandchildren, Erica (Jeff Tam) Schultz, Leland Schultz, III, Karla (Corey) Hallgren, Charles Schultz, Nathan (Emily) Schultz, Eric Schultz, Amy Schultz, Brook (Elliot) Wong, Blythe (Steven) Lovewell; step-grandchildren, Jenny Knee and Sara (Jeff) Smieding; great-grandchildren, Emma Mae Wong and Jackson Tam; step-great-grandchildren, Henry and Violet Smieding; brother, Guilford Schultz.  A celebration of Leland’s life will begin at 11 a.m. with a short service at noon and reception to follow on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Ave. N., Stillwater, MN 55082.  Private family burial will be at Plum City Union Cemetery.
