Mary Elizabeth Carroll

Mary Elizabeth Carroll, age 67, of Somerset, Wisconsin, passed away on September 23, 2026, in Osceola, Wisconsin.

Mary was born on September 18, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, to Leo and Fern Doolan. She began her schooling in Mount Prospect, Illinois, and later graduated from New Richmond High School. She went on to earn her CNA certificate from Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College and spent many years caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at hospitals and care facilities in St. Paul and the surrounding area.

Mary was a cancer survivor who faced life with strength and courage. She was a loving mother who raised two children and cherished her family dearly.

Mary's love of all things whimsical could be seen in her love of shopping, Disney movies, and collecting little treasures. Those who knew Mary will remember her free spirit, creative nature, and ability to always be herself. She loved the color pink, even driving a pink polka-dot car, and found joy in unusual things, knickknacks, and garage sale treasures.

Mary had a lifelong love for animals, caring deeply for her pets, feeding backyard birds, and enjoying time watching the cows in the backyard pasture.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Fern Doolan, and her beloved pets Chancy, Jackie, and George.

Mary is survived by her children, Dustin (Tiffany) Carroll, and Darcy (Louis) Whall, her grandchildren, Quinn, Remy, Daxton, Jack and Serenity, her siblings, Chris (Bob) Ottosen, Bill (Karen) Doolan, Patti Grothe, Chuck (Monica) Doolan, Bob (Lona) Doolan, and Molly. She also leaves behind many family members and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.

She will be deeply loved, dearly missed, and never forgotten.

A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held at Simonet Funeral Home in Stillwater on Friday, October 2, 2026, visitation at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am. A luncheon will follow the service.

In honor of Mary and her love of the color pink, guests are invited to wear something pink to her Celebration of Life.
