Michael Louis Weiss, age 73, a proud Stillwater native, passed away in a tragic house fire on May 14, 2026. Known by many as the owner of the beloved Redwood Wagon, he brought joy to countless customers through his beautifully hand-carved redwood signs. His creativity and passion for woodworking could be found traveling throughout the Midwest, where he spent years attending fairs and festivals, sharing his talent and connecting with people everywhere he went.
Beyond his craftsmanship, Mike could often be found on the golf course enjoying a round with friends or competing in local pool leagues. One of his proudest accomplishments was being inducted into the 9-Ball Hall of Fame, a testament to both his skill and dedication to the game he loved.
He will be remembered for his warm spirit, talented hands, and the happiness he brought to others through both his work and friendships. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the signs proudly displayed in homes and businesses, and the many lives he touched along the way.
Mike was born on May 22, 1952, in Saint Paul, the son of Joseph and Mary (Zarden) Weiss.
Mike is survived by his siblings; Dan (Bokei), Mary Jo, Pat, and Jim; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother John.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, May 28, 2026 with visitation one hour prior the Mass at the Church of St. Michael, 611 S. Third St., Stillwater, MN 55082. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Stillwater.
