Richard Klein

Richard Stephen Klein, age 79 of Stillwater, MN, died on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

He was born the son of Stephen and Helen (Kapuscinski) Klein on January 10, 1946, in Brainerd, MN. He graduated from Bemidji State University with a degree in Teaching and Mathematics and met Susan Bromaghin. They got married on June 13, 1970. Dick was a beloved high school football coach for the Stillwater Ponies over three decades. He worked at the Stillwater School District from 1969 to 2010 as a math teacher and later an IT specialist.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan; parents and siblings, Robert and Dorothy.

He is survived by his son, Chad (Brianna) Klein of Lakeville, MN; granddaughters, Paige and Quinn; sister, Marcy Scharf of Overland Park, KS; brothers, Tom (Marge) Klein of Lake Elmo, MN and Bill (Karen) Klein of Fergus Falls, MN; nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation held from 3pm - 7pm on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Ave. N, Stillwater, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the Stillwater Ponies Touchdown Club.
