Charlotte Dauffenbach Obituary

Charlotte Lucy Dauffenbach, age 92 of Stillwater, died Wednesday September 13, 2018 at Good Samaritan Home in Stillwater. Charlotte was born November 12, 1925 to George and Marie (Austin) Wittrock in Mankato, MN. After attending school in Mankato, she worked at Brett’s Department Store. On May 19, 1947 she married Leo Dauffenbach and started her most loved vocation of being a wife and mother to her seven children. In 1953, the family moved to Stillwater where Charlotte became a cook for the Stillwater Public School System. She became a talented seamstress, sewing clothing not only for her own family but for others. Hundreds of Stillwater Pony jackets carried patches sewn on by Charlotte. She became a quilter and her beautiful works live on in the homes of all her family. Her home was always open and full of laughter and serious story telling. Charlotte is survived by her children: Charlene of Stillwater, Michael (Lyn) of Mankato, Thomas (Peggy) of Texas, Lynnette of Stillwater, Larry of Stillwater, Keith (Cindy) of Florida and Cheryl (Mark) of Stillwater, eighteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren; brother Leo (Francie) and sisters Mary (Harold Duffy) and Edith. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo in 1988, son-in-law Jerry, grandson Greg, and brother’s Harold, George, Lawrence and John. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the Church of Saint Michael, 611 South Third St., Stillwater, MN 55082 with visitation one hour prior to the Mass at church.
