Tamy L. (Rhoads) Leventhal, age 56 of Stillwater, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2023 from progressive supranuclear palsy. Tamy was born on March 8, 1967 in Los Angeles, CA. She grew up in Fountain Valley, CA, and graduated from La Quinta High School. Tamy continued her education at University California Irvine where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology in 1990. In 1990 Tamy eloped with her husband Bruce in the Rocky Mountains on their way to Minnesota. While in Minnesota, Tamy attended Anoka Ramsey College and Metropolitan State where she earned her RN and BSN. Tamy worked at the University Minnesota M-Health Fairview Hospital for 25 years. Tamy was a passionate, caring and meticulous nurse. Loved by both patients and colleagues, Tamy was proud of her work and truly embraced the joys of her career.
Tamy and Bruce were together for 32 years. Together they traveled throughout the world taking pictures of wildlife and landscapes. Tamy loved her pets Luca and Rio, and was a passionate advocate for all things animals and nature. Known for her smile and hugs, Tamy was a comfort to family, friends, and her patients.
Tamy will remain in the hearts of her husband Bruce; siblings Andrea, Candice, and Justin; nieces Skylar, Scarlet, Eden, and Isabel as well as nephews Levin, Asher, Liam, and Logan.
A gathering to celebrate Tamy's life will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m., with a tribute and sharing at 6:00 pm, on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at the Oakdale Nature Preserve, 4444 Hadley Ave N, Oakdale, MN 55128.
